WillowFlex is a bioplastic made from compostable raw materials that was developed specifically for 3D printing.
WillowFlex is the only filament on the market that's both flexible and has a raw material that passes both EU and US compostability criteria. The sustainable bioplastic has more durable characteristics than standard plastics, allowing it to resist greater and lower temperatures without breaking.
Willowflex is made through the composting of organic solid waste and exhibits sustainable properties such as:
90% of the material had biodegraded within 6 months.
Disintegration of test material more than 2 mm that is less than 10% of the original mass.
Absence of negative environmental effects during the composting process.
A plant growth test revealed low amounts of heavy metals and no detrimental consequences.
