Recycled Shredded Cardboard
Shredded cardboard is know for its recyclability, warmth, ability to absorb sound, high levels of shock and its load-bearing capabilities. Shredding old cardboard results in a geometric woven material that can be used for numerous purposes. Its texture and springiness can be utilised as well.
By using recycled shredded cardboard we are preventing the need for raw materials to be used to manufacture new cardboard; that would be normally taken from Birch or Pine trees. Thus, using this recycled material enables forests to be managed and harvested sustainably.
Many online retail companies have pledged to become plastic free over the next 3-5 years. Reducing the use and need for plastic in their packaging will lead to more of a reliance on paper and cardboard which will help them achieve their plastic reduction targets.
