Moso Bamboo
Also known as tortoise-shell bamboo, Moso Bamboo is becoming one of the fastest growing , renewable resources in the world; it absorbs CO2 in large quantities. To determine the eco-impact of a product, every phase of the life cycle should be taken into account. MOSO Bamboo Products offer clear sustainability advantages in each phase and have even proven CO2 neutral over the full life cycle.
Growing up to 20 meter long, with a diameter of 10-12 cm, Moso Bamboo have are harvested responsibly - roughly 20%-25% are harvested, thus preventing a significant reduction in the crop population. Their rhizome roots keep the soil stable and hold the water table, making them suitable for reforestation.
An ideal alternative to slower growing and increasingly scarce hardwoods. Moso Bamboo has been used for outdoor façade cladding, custom work tops, furniture and flooring.
