Jesmonite
An exciting and simple material that is an eco-friendly and non toxic alternative to resin, plaster and even concrete. Invented in the early 1980s by Peter Hawkins a a concrete technologist, Jesmonite can be used for many different purposes from a creative and functional standpoint.
Due to the variety of Jesmonite compositions available, the material can be cast in a number of ways and in conjunction with other materials resulting in stunning colours and shapes. It is a chameleon material that can reflect the appearance and texture of almost any surface, whilst fast setting and water based making it an incredibly versatile option across both the arts and building industries.
Jesmonite was the ‘material of the year’ at the London Design Fair in 2017.
