 Expanded Insulation Cork Board

Cork is generally considered sustainable as it is the bark of a cork oak tree, extracted by stripping at certain times of the year so the tree continues to grow. It is a super useful material as its impermeable to water and air , which is why it is well know for wine bottle tops (and Badminton shuttlecocks).

Cork is naturally fire retardant, making it suitable for acoustic and thermal insulation in house walls, floors, ceilings and facades - and good for architectural model making. Whatever the application, panels of expanded insulation cork boards retain perfect dimensional stability for many years.

Make Material Properties

Material Make Natural cork is made from the cortex of the cork tree, the ever-green type of cork oak that covers the wide areas of mediterranean coast.
Applications Furniture, lighting, plinths, display counters, cabinets, partitions, decorative façades, flooring.
Sustainability Level Not a single tree is cut down. The layer of hard cork of a few to a dozen or so centimetres is separated from the trunk in the 10-year periods without any damage to the tree itself.
