Our latest window display project was inspired by historical gun purchase account ledgers that are currently housed inside the Purdey & Sons store. One of ledgers features a record of Charles Darwin purchasing guns for his expeditions!
We recreated the accounts ledgers by fabricating bookshelves populated with old world book props that we made by using wood with routed edges to give the effect of the curved edge of old books, we dye coloured canvasses that were stretched over the books and finished with printed graphic ledger labels.
The book props displayed off the shelves featured a marbling effect from the paper pages when closed, we took the pattern from the marbling effect and printed it on backgrounds to mirror the book patterns, on the shop front display.
Purdey and Sons reopen next week as we move towards the new normal and away from full lockdown.
Alusid source unwanted manufacturing materials that others discard. They take those materials and put them through an ingenious, low-impact process to give them a new lease of life. No chemicals or resin binders are used. The result is a new kind of material, combining glass and porcelain, to create solid surfaces and tiles with individual character and low environmental impact.
Never less than 98% recycled materials.
Excellent for interior design and architect projects.

We built a stately home staircase for a James Purdey & Sons window display to serve as an elaborate plinth, located in Audley House, Mayfair.
Our staircase was made from plywood and textured with a thin layer of concrete and finished with a scenic paint job with 3 tones of stone colour.
The staircase was accompanied by a vacuum-formed stonewall background that finished with scenic paint.
With the looming festive period just around the corner now we were getting into the swing of things and preparing for our yuletide cheer by building and assembling disco-ball snowmen for Magasin du Nord department store in Copenhagen.
Our snowmen were made from disco balls comprised of tiny mirror square facets on a fibreglass dome. The carrots were made of polystyrene carved and sprayed orange. We didn’t forget our top hats for our funky Jack Frosts!
The disco snowmen will feature on their window display for shoppers to see during their festive shopping.

We collaborated with Barclays for their new Pingit Campaign that raised awareness for their mobile payment app Pingit and its convenient new features.
Barclays research revealed that a 1/3 of Brits lost their money during Stag & Hen do trips abroad, mostly due to the wearing of impractical fancy dress costumes as the reason for money lost, during nights out. We solved this by sewing Barclays Pingit chips onto the country’s most popular fancy dress to enable transactions straight from costume to machine.
The new Pingit products sold out.

Make It London crafted giant feather props for the James Purdey & Sons shop in Mayfair. The feathers were hand crafted to represent Mallard, woodcock, dyed red partridge and pheasant feathers .
Each feather stem was hand whittled from wood, heat treated to form the curves of the feathers, with a final layer of canvas on top for the paint work.
All the feathers were hung in front of jet black painted boards to really make them pop out. We also created the highland stone plinths to show off the Purdey products.
